Our New Train

Our New Train

They founded this country for the freedom of religion
and it rolled down the tracks with faith as her engine
But trouble laid ahead, and they wondered who to blame
And soon forgot from where they came

And the charlatans stepped in; No time to waste
And sold their red tonic in a haste
That cold November was indeed a windy day
And all put shackles on so they wouldn't blow away

But, oh don't you worry; The state will save
Everyone a spot in their own allotted grave
So oh don't you worry; The state will save
Everyone a spot in their own allotted grave

People would rather live kneeling than die too soon
They traded their cake for a spoon
And the blood of our fathers wasn't all in vain
It's used to paint our new train

But, oh don't you worry for the state will save
Everyone a spot in their own allotted grave
So oh don't you worry; The state will save
Everyone a spot in their own allotted grave

bird brain

messin' 'round...

I reached in the fridge, cracked open a beer
but it musta' had a hole, cuz it disapeared

I just grabbed another no need to fear
and the day was getting mighty clear

I walked outside for a little smoke
but my matchsticks were all broke

but a bird had a lighter and gave me a toke
and then we laughed at the funniest joke

Something Real

I saw a drama the other day
Don’t worry I wont give the ending away
But there was something real about that play
The acting was bad, but I cried anyway

They went to school to push their pills
Because you can’t patent eating vegetables
But slicing you open is where they get their thrills
Boy, I’d rather get mugged than pay their bills

They can’t even figure out tomorrow’s rain
So how’d they become experts on climate change
And the missing data has yet to be explained
The schools, the media, the government; they’re all the same

Then there’s the whole nature versus nurture debate
It seems science is discovering new excuses for our fate
Put responsibility on someone else’s plate
For DNA, blame your mother and her mate

They sang a song towards the ending
Don’t worry I wont dream of singing
But they sang a note that hit the ceiling
And my ears are still ringing

Vegas Bound

Ok, now for a 180 degree turn. from salvation to sin city! My sisters are planning a trip for their 21st b-day and it reminded me of a song i was trying to write a while back so i gave it another crack...here's another demo in chipmunk voice...

if you don't who Barry is then look in the comment section

the hands don't move on the friday clock
maybe it's the batteries maybe its shock
but the time does finally tick
and then there's one grand exodus

i loosen my tie and my workplace smile
rub my eyes and breathe in life for awhile
Now Chief you decreed we should stay away
but what do the elite know anyway

Oh, we'll go by air; we'll go by ground
we'll stay the night or bust a turn-around
but either way we're Vegas bound

we'll see the city, we'll paint the town
we'll laugh and smile and maybe even frown
But Barry you can bet we're vegas bound

the shackles remain but the leash has been loosened
and after a drink we're unfettered and boozin'
our checks are small and the weekend is short
but it's ours to blow in a desert resort

Oh, we'll go by air; we'll go by ground
we'll stay the night or bust a turn-around
but either way we're Vegas bound

we'll see the city, we'll paint the town
we'll laugh and cheer and maybe even frown
But Barry you can bet we're vegas bound

Oh, the drinks are free, and the chicks are hot
I'll save you a seat by the penny slots
cuz Lord knows you already spent a lot!

this meal/the axiom

Well this song is like from left field. I mean i written songs about drunken rabbits, insomnia, and even poop, but I did give up drinking for Lent, so maybe that can explain why all of a sudden I'm a Christian rocker...lol... um this is a demo of a demo of a rough draft, but I think it definitely gots potential...

update..added other 'religious song'

Some people trust only in what they can measure
But no scale can handle the weight of the treasure
If you trust just in what you can observe
And the facts seem really quite absurd
Then come bless your eyes so that they may better serve you

And I know it may have been a very long while
But it’s never to late to reconcile
For only one word and you shall be healed
Come all with joy to share in this meal

But you say you can’t believe in deities, miracles or magic
Could you be lost in the barren valley of logic
You’ll find mercy flowing from the Eternal fountain
Just one prayer will begin to remove all the doubtin’
And with a bit of faith you will be able to move mountains

And I know it may have been a very long while
But it’s never to late to reconcile
For only one word and you shall be healed
Come all with joy to share in this meal

But you say you can't let go all the sins and transgressions of the Church
Let he who has not sinned cast his stone first
Many tears fell when judas betrayed our Lord Jesus
but the Spirit still descended, it's fire was not extinguished
And the Holy Church was built on a rock and all are welcome in it

And I know it may have been a very long while
But it’s never to late to reconcile
For only one word and you shall be healed
Come all with joy to share in this meal
