Something Real

I saw a drama the other day
Don’t worry I wont give the ending away
But there was something real about that play
The acting was bad, but I cried anyway

They went to school to push their pills
Because you can’t patent eating vegetables
But slicing you open is where they get their thrills
Boy, I’d rather get mugged than pay their bills

They can’t even figure out tomorrow’s rain
So how’d they become experts on climate change
And the missing data has yet to be explained
The schools, the media, the government; they’re all the same

Then there’s the whole nature versus nurture debate
It seems science is discovering new excuses for our fate
Put responsibility on someone else’s plate
For DNA, blame your mother and her mate

They sang a song towards the ending
Don’t worry I wont dream of singing
But they sang a note that hit the ceiling
And my ears are still ringing
